And To The Republic...

We all should know the words;  I pledge allegiance to the flag of The United State of America and to the republic for which it stands.  One nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all.  Well maybe some did not have to recite it everyday in school or have not memorized it but I know at some point we have all heard it; my question is do you know what it means.

I pledge allegiance; does not mean I am yes man to the government or a party but I do give allegiance to this nation and that brings me to the republic.  For those of you who do not know it we are a republic and not a democracy.  Yes we have a say but in a republic we are governed by the law.  In a democracy we are governed by the will of the majority which means good or bad whatever that will is would be law in that moment.  Watching how easily people sway in their opinions I can honestly say I thank God for rules of order and my hope is we do not lose sight of this as we face the next chapter in our nations history.

Yes we need to make changes and in my opinion take a step back and return to the constitution. Yes I know many after several generations of no God in our education have no understanding of faith in him beyond what someone has told them but the truth is without the influence of that faith in our founding fathers who were definitely not in any way mindless when it came to partaking in those weekly activities that sets most people of faith apart from others, but there is also this, partaking in those rituals does not mean we have faith or that a person believes enough to act or take a stand for that faith.  Of course that is not what I want to talk about.

It is the republic I want to see continue not that the status remains quot but if we lose that respect of the law without a common cultural literacy which comes from that common understanding of that faith many still have we are divided.  Currently we are divided yes we have the two political parties which for the most part in my opinion are the same at the top end.  Instead of citizens representatives we have professional politicians who will always think they know best and now we have this monolithic bureaucracy which has permeated every aspect of our existence.with people in positions of authority who answer to no one and in my book this is bad.  People are selfish and regardless of how much of a saint they are their first instinct is to see to themselves unless there is some system of checks and balances which is the genius in this republic, though we do have to find a way to deal with judges who have ignored the rules and changed them for the price of a few pieces of silver, a little fame and a little glory and some have even ignored out on standing law in favor of some other nations laws.  The we also have the politicians who have not a clue where there boundaries are and who have also slipped their hand out for their share of the silver which by the way have come out of the mouths of our children, because when you really spend the time to think about it what do they add to our economy.

Moving on, as we look at the current situation many would say we are in crisis and to an extent we always are in someone's opinion but blaming someone else for anything more than their own actions is wrong.  Having a difference in opinion is not a crime or a sin.but to many today and this is why I like the rule of law if you do not agree with them you should be punished.  I say it is time to take a collective breath, come to some understanding of what we are and them make the necessary changes in leadership and  I say start with the top.  Okay you might like the guy but remember your allegiance is to the republic not the man or the political party or even a certain religious sect.  Also I would like to say be prepared for some rough times ahead but try to keep your cool and in this exercise all those God given rights without trampling down others.  Me if it hits the fan and I see this once free nation really starting to implode, I will not be running to the authorities as I know how to not only survive but live right well in the wild places which thankfully to some forward thinkers still exist.
