That moment
When a bolt hits you
Reality sets in
The world
You said yes to
Is not of your choosing
You are living
Someone else's dream.

That moment
Wall
Sitting between
The walls
Of a home
Not my own
My vision blurs
My sight fails
The city robs
My memories
The shore I see no more
The eagle
Sitting above the beach
No longer greets me
I look out
Towards the horizon
I see it not
No forest smells
To fill
My breath
No dogs
Off the leash
Gone are the mountains
In their place
A wall.
